Personal Trainer

After a major career change, I landed the opportunity to work for a company specializing in running. It was there when I fell in love with running and was able to complete my first marathon, multiple half marathons, 10ks and smaller races. I was given the opportunity to lead running clinics for beginner and intermediate runners and helped them succeed in completing some of their very first races. After leading several clinics, I wanted to learn more about all aspects of fitness and help individuals not just cross the finish line but succeed in everyday life.

I attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and graduated from the Personal Fitness Training diploma program. Completing this program gave me the tools needed to pursue my passion of helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. Since then, I have gained over 3 years of personal training and group fitness experience. As a trainer I like to start with a laugh and make the workouts as fun as possible for my clients.

I want to inspire and teach people how to live their healthiest life. Initially, I started my post-secondary education in nutritional sciences as nutrition has always been a very important part of my life; I ultimately decided to turn my focus to exercise science. I completed my Bachelors of Sport and Fitness Leadership in 2017 and have experience working with clients since 2015.

As a Practicing Kinesiologist my main focus is on functional movement training that my clients can translate into their everyday lives. I am passionate about connecting with each of my clients and motivating them by making exercise a fun and rewarding experience.

I help my clients achieve their goals by teaching them how to implement a balanced lifestyle that encompasses all aspects of health and wellness. I love how the field of health and wellness is continuously evolving and I am constantly learning and educating myself within the field.

Fitness and personal health has always been a key part of my life. In 1999, my love of sports and physical fitness led me to become a Certified Personal Trainer. Since that time my education in health and fitness has been ongoing, becoming certified many areas which has greatly added to my 18 years of practical experience.

My main goal for establishing Core Personal Fitness in 2001 was to help motivate people to feel their personal best. In January 2013 I was pleased to open the studio at 1109 Kings Rd in Quadra Village. Having my own business has allowed me to realize my dream of helping clients of all types reach their health and fitness goals in a judgment free, motivating, private environment.

I am now able to spend my time working one on one with clients to achieve their goals (my true passion) in an environment that promotes success.
